YCCC is pleased to announce the appointment of Wayne Clark from Australia as First Eleven Coach on a three-year summer contract. Aged 47 Wayne has been State Coach to Western Warriors in Perth for the last six years during which time they have enjoyed consistent success.
He will take up his duties in early April prior to the start of the season and work alongside Captain David Byas and Vice-Captain Aussie Darren Lehmann who was instrumental in the appointment.
In accepting the Yorkshire offer Wayne said it was an exciting opportunity to work with such a talented squad and was looking forward to meeting the players. Cricket Chairman Bob Platt expressed his delight at securing an experienced coach with such an impressive track record. Wayne has particular strengths in communication and man management having worked as a teacher and in media with Australian Channel Nine.
