Majid Khan shows past brilliance 29 January 2001
Lahore: Former Test captain Majid Khan showed flashes of his past brilliance while scoring 74 but ended up on the losing side as Lahore Whites defeated Lahore Blues by three wickets with two balls to spare to reach the final of the Veteran's Inter-City cricket tournament at the Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday. Majid and Mian Pervez (78) featured in a 166-run opening wicket stand. Summerized scores: Lahore Blues: 203-7 in 35 overs (Majid Khan 74, Mian Pervez 78, Mohammad Riaz 5-38). Lahore Whites: 204-7 in 34.4 overs (Sarfraz Azeem 57, Saadat Ali 51, Ali Zia 35, Lt Gen Tauqir Zia 23 not out).
