Notts announce £27,000 profit Notts CCC Media Release - 23 January 2001
Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club has announced a profit of £27,027 (1999: £1,026) for the year ending 30th September 2000. The Club's turnover for the year rose by 11.9% from £3.36m to £3.75m. Nottinghamshire Chief Executive David Collier commented: "The poor weather during the early part of the season and in particular a rain affected five days during the England v Zimbabwe Test Match at Trent Bridge produced a challenging financial year in 2000. "The Club made significant progress during the past year in securing new sponsors and expanding our Community Development programmes. "We are optimistic about the prospects for 2001 and will seek to maintain Trent Bridge as one of the most popular and well-appointed Test Match Grounds in the world. "The Club has recently invested more than £100,000 on an automated ground covering system for Trent Bridge. "In 2001 we are staging a Weekend of Legends on June 30th and July 1st to raise additional capital to further enhance the excellent spectator facilities at Trent Bridge. "Next season Nottinghamshire Outlaws will compete in Division 1 of the Norwich Union NCL and Trent Bridge will stage both a NatWest Series Floodlit Match between Australia and Pakistan on June 19 and an Ashes Test from August 2nd-6th." © CricInfo Ltd.
