Moss debuts, Inness recalled for Bushrangers
VCA - 23 January 2001
Victoria's selectors today named Prahran all-rounder Jonathan Moss to make his debut for the Bushrangers in Friday's Mercantile Mutual Cup clash against the Queensland Bulls. Moss replaces Bushrangers captain Paul Reiffel, who has hamstring soreness and is being rested as a precautionary measure.
Mathew Inness also returns to the side for his first Mercantile Mutual match of the season, replacing Damien Fleming who has been elevated into the Australian one-day squad.
The 25 year-old Moss hails from New South Wales, where he played for the Manly-Warringah club, before joining Prahran this season. After a late start to the season, he has taken 27 wickets @ 14.37 and scored 226 runs @ 22.60 in Victorian Premier Cricket.
Just last round, Moss single-handedly destroyed Dandenong with 5/14 and 78 in the finest all-round performance this season.
A recommendation on a replacement captain for the match has been made to the VCA Board and will be announced later this week.
