Duleep Trophy: Fog play spoilsport at Mohali Staff Reporter - 11 January 2001
Mohali woke up on Thursday to find itself covered with fog and the Duleep Trophy match between North Zone and the West got off to a delayed start at 2:55 pm at the Punjab Cricket Associatioon stadium. Winning the toss, North decided to have a bowl first. Surendra Singh, the hero of the earlier match, struck first blood for North as he trapped Connor Williams leg before for 21 at 40 in the 13th over. Play had to be called of early as bad light prevented any possibility of further cricket. At stumps, West had moved on to 67/1 in 30 overs.
