I started playing cricket when I was seven years old, and from the moment I bowled that first ball I knew that this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. It was my dream, from that moment to play for South Africa.

That day has finally arrived and it still feels like a dream. My feelings at the moment are being very proud and honoured. The idea of playing with all my heroes is still a little overwhelming but I know it will hit home when I meet them and actually leave home ground for 10 weeks. I know one thing is for sure, I'm going to miss my favourite meal - steak and chips – and putting on my favourite colour - navy blue - especially when it comes to playing for EASTERNS. I know that while I am away they will do well regardless.

But this is what all my hard work has been for... (I just hope I look as good in green as I do in navy blue - ha, ha, ha)

A little more about myself...

My favourite TV show is Extra Cover. I don't read much but when I do it is ALWAYS about cricket. Dance music is top of my list - especially when I am driving, and I enjoy eating out and relaxing with my girlfriend Deanne.

My pet hates are lazy people and liars.

My goal for the future is to play for South Africa for as long as I possibly can and to be the best person, and cricketer that I can be.

By practicing everyday and always giving 100% has finally paid off. I am VERY passionate about cricket and just LOVE the game. My message for other young aspiring cricketers is to always give 100%, train HARD everyday, your body and mind and most important LOVE what you do.

Last but not least. Thank you to everyone that has helped me reach my dream! I really appreciate it and know that it couldn't have come true without your help.
