Nottinghamshire are considering plans to increase the capacity of their world-famous Trent Bridge ground by constructing another new stand.
It is less than three years since the £7.2million Radcliffe Road complex was opened - complete with arguably the best indoor facility in the country - but Notts are now looking to build on the vacant Fox Road side of the ground.
A meeting with Sport England is planned next month in a bid to secure Lottery funding and an application for planning permission looks set to be lodged the very near future.
Club Chairman Albert Bocking said: "We are considering plans for the development of the Fox Road side of the ground and are presently in discussions with a number of organisations with a view to securing financial support.
"The ECB have already indicated their willingness to back a Fox Road development and we are also in discussions with the local council and potential sponsors.
"If those discussions prove successful and our General Committee feel our business plan is robust enough, we may be going forward as early as April with plans for a 2,300-seater stand.
"Provided we get approval from the planning authority and Committee members, a construction programme could start in the Autumn."
The new stand would see capacity at Trent Bridge increase to 15,400.
