ICC President pays tribute to Sir Donald Bradman
Media Release - 26 February 2001
The international cricket family would mourn Sir Donald Bradman not only as a great player but also as a magnificent visionary and statesman of world cricket, ICC President, Mr Malcolm Gray, said today.
Mr Gray said Sir Donald had made a magnificent contribution as a player and as an Australian and international administrator.
"The incredible statistical record of his playing career is matched by his sporting and national leadership," Mr Gray said.
"Sir Donald never compromised his standards in any walk of life or in any field in which he became involved.
"Because of these qualities and achievements he was revered throughout and beyond cricket. He was a great Australian."
