12 February 2001

The Australian Cricket Board has donated Rs 41.25 lakh to the World Vision's relief efforts for the Gujarat earthquake victims.

The ACB and the Australian cricketers, during the second final of the Carlton triangular one-day series between Australia and West Indies on Friday, made appeals to the fans to donate money for relief operations and the resulting contributions were given to World Vision, a press release said in Sydney on Monday.

The Australian cricket team's support for the quake victims will continue during their 54-day India tour.

The visiting team will carry relief material from Australia which will be handed over to the World Vision India CEO, John Mathai at a press conference in Mumbai on February 14.
