Cricketers off to Auckland 11 February 2001
Lahore: The Pakistan cricket team left here on Saturday evening for Auckland, New Zealand, on a six-week tour comprising five one-day internationals and three Tests. Former captain Wasim Akram will join the team in Auckland on Tuesday while Moin Khan, who will leave for Melbourne from Singapore, will reunite the team on Wednesday after attending the Test captains meeting slated for tomorrow(Sunday). Besides 15 players, others accompanying the team include Faqir Aizazuddin (manager), Asad Mustafa (assistant manager), Javed Miandad (coach), Dr Riaz (physiotherapist) and Dr Nauman Niaz (analyst). Squad: Moin Khan (captain), Inzamam-ul-Haq (vice-captain), Saeed Anwar, Imran Nazir, Salim Elahi, Imran Farhat, Yousuf Youhana, Shahid KhanAfridi, Abdur Razzaq, Azhar Mahmood, Waqar Younis, Shoaib Akhtar, Mohammad Sami, Saqlain Mushtaq and Mushtaq Ahmad.
