Surrey County Cricket Club is delighted to announce that Mark Ramprakash has signed a three-year contract. Ramprakash, who has scored 19,048 first class runs at an average of 48 which include 47 centuries and five double centuries, will be a invaluable addition to the squad.
Paul Sheldon, Chief Executive of Surrey County Cricket Club, stated: "This is a huge signing for Surrey. It is very rare that any player of such proven calibre becomes available. Although we were not expecting or planning for this, we have grabbed the opportunity of signing Mark with both hands. We were flattered that we were always Mark's first choice of county, and his signing gives us the strength in depth in both bowling and batting which will allow us to be competitive in all competitions."
Mark Ramprakash added: "I am really excited about signing for a Club like Surrey. The quality of cricket that they have played over the last two seasons has been unbelievable and I am looking forward to being a part of that from now on. By playing with Surrey at the highest level I also hope to have the chance to fight for an England place again."
