Andhra Pradesh grind out a dull Day Two Staff Reporter - 27 December 2001
Andhra Pradesh batted defensively for much of Day Two in their Ranji Trophy league match against Hyderabad at Secunderabad on Wednesday. Y Venugopal Rao and IG Srinivas, resuming on 106 and 91 respectively, went on to add thirty more runs before the latter was dismissed. Just having completed his century, Srinivas left for 101, made off 234 balls with 14 fours. Venugopal Rao was the seventh wicket to fall, with the score on 319. He made 146 in a painstaking manner, off 395 balls with 19 fours. His knock, along with Srinivas', formed the foundation for Andhra Pradesh's final total of 365, ground out in 151.4 overs. In reply, Hyderabad were 55/1 at the close of play. Daniel Manohar was dismissed for 18, but A Nand Kishore and Anirudh Singh took Hyderabad safely through to stumps, making 22 and 12 respectively. © CricInfo
