Haryana defeat lacklustre Services Staff Reporter - 20 December 2001
Haryana registered a 54-run win over Services in their Ranji one-day match at Jalandhar on Wednesday. Winning the toss and opting to bat, Haryana made good use of their advantage. Opener Chetan Sharma top-scored for his side, making 60 off 84 balls. He was given good support by Shafiq Khan, who himself made 58 off 56 balls. Ajay Ratra also continued his fine form, making an unbeaten 41 and helping his side to 244/7 in 45 overs. Services lasted the entire 45 overs to make only 190. Jasbir Singh made 56 and Sarabjit Singh made 40, but none of the other batsmen were able to contribute significantly. Haryana's bowlers kept things tight, refusing to concede any runs. Services had lost seven wickets for 190 when 45 overs were bowled, giving Haryana a handy win. © CricInfo
