Terrific Taylor punishes sorry Swan Green

Things are hotting up at the top of the New Forest Indoor Cricket League. Barely a whisker separates Lymington and New Milton who both registered victories last Sunday, while last seasons' champions Bashley lie close behind in third.
Lymington's title hopes received a boost following their 12 run victory over Esso. The Watersiders gifted Lymington 30 extras as a strangely subdued Peter Tapper (35no) guided Lymington to 119 for 5. Some frantic running between the wickets from Andy Parrott and Steve Rice (19) gave Esso's reply a good start, but sharp Lymington fielding brought about 3 important run outs and although Jason Ford's nippy 19 put Esso in with a shout, his dismissal in the penultimate over effectively sealed the match for Lymington.
There's no stopping New Milton's Steve Taylor. The robust all-rounder was once again in fine form with the bat, smashing an unbeaten 39 as Milton totalled 116 for 5. Lee Beck also contributed with a rather more sedate 26 not out. Dean Yates (30) and Charlie Haskell (27) put Swan in a good position, but three run outs and some tight Milton bowling at the death stopped them just 11 runs short of an elusive first victory of the season.
The running between the wickets left much to be desired in the Division Two clash between the second teams of Esso and Lymington. 8 of the 10 wickets to fall in the match were down to run outs, although this didn't stop Esso from accumulating a massive 161 for 5. Jon Church (35), Alan Kellett (21), Peter Miller (31) and Kevin Glass (30) piled on the agony for Lymington who replied with 118 for 5 (Allan Spencer 25no, Dom Di Maria 20).
Three wickets from Robin Butler couldn't save Milford from another defeat against Ringwood. The damage had already been done as Milford had earlier been restricted to just 94 for 5 despite Mike Wensley-Smith's tenacious 34 not out. Butler's heroics almost saved his team but Graham Bowater batted well under pressure to see Ringwood home to a 2 wicket victory.
New Milton Seconds look unstoppable in Division Three. They registered another big score as they beat Milford Seconds by 14 runs. Steve Vibert (26no), James Hayward (22no), Kevin Hoare (20no) and Richard Howard (27no) all figured as Milton raced to 147 for 2. Wily Ronny Wilkins led a gallant one man assault on the Milton total, notching up a superb 57 not out. Sadly the only support Wilkins' received was from the generous Milton bowlers who conceded a monstrous 52 extras, and Milford's reply was restricted to 133 for 5.
Experience told in the clash between Esso Thirds and Esso Fourths. Steve Rollinson grabbed 3 for 11 as the Thirds were skittled out for a paltry 66. Kevin Mitchell then scored 17 as the Fourths cruised home for the loss of just 2 wickets in the penultimate over.
