First Great Eastern has pledged their support of Essex County Cricket Club with a two-year sponsorship deal. A five-figure sum over two years has secured the sponsorship of the Essex County Cricket Club Training Wear in 2002 and 2003.

Commercial Manager Dave Comley said: "This is an excellent sponsorship for us and continues the superb support shown by First Great Eastern, not only for the Cricket Club but also the Essex County Cricket Board. We are delighted to keep them on board, and perhaps it is rather apt that they will be sponsoring the TRAINing wear!"

This is the second large sponsorship announced by Essex following the new Main Sponsorship by Panacea a few weeks ago. The Club is anticipating the announcement of a further sponsorship – that of the Norwich Union League shirts – in a few weeks time.
