Derbyshire make three signings for 2002 Media Release - 7 December 2001
Derbyshire have today moved to strengthen the squad for 2002 with three new signings. Former Gloucestershire middle order batsman Dominic Hewson (27) has signed on a two-year agreement, with Somerset all-rounder, Jason Kerr (27) joining on a similar contract. Meanwhile, the Club has agreed a one year contract with Neil Gunter (20), formerly on the MCC Groundstaff and registered with Berkshire. Neil is a right-arm medium fast bowler, and left handed batsman. Club Captain, Dominic Cork is delighted that the three have signed, saying: "The fact that both Dominic and Jason are joining us from clubs who have been highly successful in the recent past, can only be an advantage as we look to improve substantially on last year's performances. Neil is a young man who will benefit greatly from a full season of professional cricket." © Derbyshire CCC
