Solid batting gives Uttar Pradesh victory Staff Reporter - 6 December 2001
A sterling 96 from opener Jyoti P Yadav saw Uttar Pradesh win their Ranji one-day match at Udaipur over Rajasthan by seven wickets. Winning the toss, Rajasthan batted first and made a total of 252, definitely defendable. Featured in the innings were Gagan Khoda's 46 off 47 balls and skipper PK Krishnakumar's 84 off 105 balls. None of the other batsmen could really get going, though, and the innings folded with four balls to go. Uttar Pradesh made light work of the target. Putting on 133 runs for the first wicket with Prashant Malviya, Yadav made 96 off 109 balls, with 15 fours. Mohammad Kaif also contributed, making an unbeaten 66 off 70 balls and seeing his side to victory in just 45.4 overs.
