Mumbai and Baroda to play in Kenya tri-series Staff Reporter - 30 August 2001
Pace bowler Paras Mhambrey will lead the Mumbai squad that will be playing in a one-day tri-series in Kenya from September 10 to September 23. Ranji champions Baroda and hosts Kenya will be other two teams playing in the tournament. Mumbai and former India left-hander Vinod Kambli, who was initially named in the 16-man squad, has meanwhile dropped out of the tour as he is down with gastroenteritis and tonsillitis. Jatin Paranjpe has been named to replace him. Former Indian opening batsman Lalchand Rajput will be the coach while MCA joint secretary Mayank Khandwala will be the manager. The Baroda team will be led by Jacob Martin who is currently in Lanka with the Indian side. Cecil Williams has been named vice-captain.
