With less than a week to go to the Cheltenham and Gloucester Trophy final at Lord's, Somerset Chief Executive Peter Anderson has appealed to Somerset fans who are living anywhere in the country to go along and support the team.

Speaking at The County Ground yesterday he told me: "I'm hoping that all ex-pats will answer the call and come along and support us at Lord's on Saturday."

Over 5,500 tickets have been sold at The County Ground, and in addition another 3,500 Somerset fans are thought to have obtained their tickets directly from the Lord's ticket office, which means that almost a third of the crowd at the final will be supporting the 'Cidermen'.

A source at Leicestershire told me earlier today that they had "sold between 3,500 and 4,000 tickets," which means that The Foxes supporters will be outnumbered two to one on the day.

Mr Anderson continued: "Saturday morning will see an exodus from Somerset with as many as thirty coaches making their way to the capital. Sixteen have already been booked and will depart from Priory Road Bridge Car Park at 6am, whilst another 14 are known to be travelling from other locations around the county and beyond."

The Chief Executive added: "Two trains from Taunton are already fully booked, but at the moment there are no specials being run."
