After suffering defeats at the hands of Surrey and Middlesex, Somerset Under-15's made amends when they beat Gloucestershire in their final match of the season.
In the two-day match against Surrey at Taunton School the visitors batted first and scored 287 for 7, with Duncan Ellis ending with the impressive figures of 26-6-70-3. In reply Somerset scored 154 to give the visitors victory on the first innings.
Against Middlesex, also at Taunton School Somerset batted first and scored 154,with Crawford, who batted at number nine, top scoring with an unbeaten 36. In reply the visitors reached their target of 155 for the loss of 8 wickets to record a two-wicket victory. For Somerset there were two wickets each for James Excell ( 2 for 25) and Simon Marchaant (2 for 28).
The game against Wales was cancelled due to rain, which meant that the game against Gloucestershire at Kings College, Taunton on August 12th was the final match of the season.
The visitors batted first and were dismissed for 188, thanks to a fine spell of bowling by Nick King who ended with 5 for 24 off 10 overs.
The Somerset reply was dominated by opening batsman Richard Timms, who has enjoyed an excellent season. Timms carried his bat and was still there unbeaten on 124 as Somerset reached 189 for 5, a victory to savour during the long winter months ahead.
