Sabres face two crucial matches in three days says Anderson

Earlier this morning Chief Executive Peter Anderson told me "Somerset face two crucial games in the next three days and if we are to have any chance of retaining our National League First Division status it is vital that we win both of them." The Sabres travel to Edgbaston tomorrow to take on Warwickshire Bears, in what is a re-run of last Saturday's Cheltenham and Gloucester semi final, when Somerset were rescued from the brink of defeat thanks to a fighting partnership between Rob Turner and Keith Dutch. Since then the Sabres have beaten table topping Leicestershire, and confidence in the camp is high. The return of Richard Johnson, after missing out on a Test match place yet again will strengthen a squad which is expected to be the same as the midweek match. The Sabres return to The County Ground on Tuesday to entertain Surrey in a day/night match with a 4.10 start. "This will be the third floodlit game that we have staged at The County Ground," said the Chief Executive,"and this is another big occasion for us.We will be hoping that the fans will turn out in large numbers to support the Sabres, and hopefully cheer them to another victory."
