High Performance Consultant
ICC Media Release - 13 August 2001

For the first time the World Cup in South Africa in 2003 will feature 14 teams. The ten test playing nations will be joined by the leading four Associate Members of the ICC – Kenya, Holland, Namibia and Canada.

The ICC wishes to appoint a suitably qualified High Performance Consultant to work with these four countries over the next 18 months to prepare them for the World Cup.

The successful applicant will come from a test playing nation and will have experience and proven success at the top level of the One Day game in either coaching, playing, management or development.

He will report to the ICC Development Manager and the contract will involve (inter alia)

  • Preliminary visit to each country
  • Creation of individual preparation plan for each country
  • Attendance at Emerging Nations Tournament in April 2002
  • Regular monitoring of countries
  • Follow up visits in late 2002
  • Attendance at World Cup 2003
  • Submission of final report to ICC

Relocation is not required and it is anticipated that the contract will involve a workload of approximately two/ three days per week (including the travel requirements) over the full contract period.
