Pakistan Blues scored their second victory in a row when they defeated Pakistan Whites by 44 run on the second day of the fourth International Double Wicket-Tournament at Gaddafi Stadium Monday night.

In other matches, Pakistan Greens thrashed Sri Lanka Blues by 85 runs, New Zealand outplayed Kenya by 41 runs while Sri Lanka Greens beat Zimbabwe by 32 runs.

The organisers have reduced the number of overs from eight to six per innings to sort out the problems of the fans who faced difficulties in getting transport after the first day schedule was completed as late as 3.30am.

Defending a mediocre total of 31, Pakistan Blues team of Shahid Afridi and Wasim Akram bowled very tightly to restrict Pakistan Whites (Imran Nazir and Shoaib Malik) to a minus net total of 13 runs and carved out their second win.

Shahid Afridi took three for 12.

Earlier, Afridi and Akram piled up 71 with four dismissals for a net total of 31. Afridi scored a rapid 41 (two sixes, six fours, 19 balls). But he was dismissed for three times. Akram scored 28 (five fours, 17 balls) but was dismissed once.

Shoaib Malik claimed three for 34.

Pakistan Greens pair of Azhar Mahmood and Abdur Razzaq displayed another fine performance, scoring a formidable net total of 100 against Sri Lanka Blues (Arjuna Ranatunga and Upul Chandana).

Azhar Mahmood scored a breezy 55 (six sixes, three fours, 19 balls) while Abdur Razzaq contributed 56 off 21 balls (three sixes, six fours) to lift the total to 120. Both were out once each.

In reply, the Sri Lankan pair collected a net total of 15 after making 55. Both Ranatunga and Chandana were dismissed twice each. Chandana scored 40 (two sixes, fivefours) while Ranatunga made 15.

Azhar Mahmood claimed three for 15.

Craig McMillan and Chris Harris achieved New Zealand's second win when they defeated the Kenyan pair of Thomas Odoyo and Martin Suji by 41 runs.

Opted to bat first, New Zealand scored 80 runs with two dismissals to get a net total of 60. Chris Harris scored 39 (six fours) while McMillan made 36 (one six, six fours).

In reply, the Kenyan pair were restricted to a net total of 19 as they scored 49 with three dismissals. Suji scored 28 with one dismissal while Odoyo made 19 with two dismissals.

Sri Lanka Greens outplayed Zimbabwe by 32 runs.

Put into bat, Sri Lankan Greens pair of Mahela Jayawardena (45, three sixes, four fours) and Russel Arnold (22) scored a total of 73. But three dismissals reduced their total to a net 43.

In reply, the Zimbabweans, Craig Wishart (38) and Paul Strang (12) scored 51 with four dismissals to muster a slim net total of 11.
