Western Warriors win Champions Cup Western Australia Cricaket Association - 4 April 2001
The following is the final results of the inaugural Champions Cup and the Grand final held on Wednesday 4 April 2001 at the WACA Ground Perth. Western Warriors: 4-247 (50) Katich 70no, North 55, Langer 34, Baptiste 2-40 Central Districts: 7-243 (49.1) Kent 81no, Stewart 46, Angel 2-39, Harvey 2-44 Official Attendance: 2257 Player of the Series The player of the series was Wade Wingfield from the Kwa Zulu Natal Dolphins. Votes were cast at the completion of each qualifying game by each of the two central umpires. Votes were cast on a three, two and one basis. Wingfield defeated Justin Langer by one vote and takes back to Natal $2 500 (Aust.) for winning the award.
