WA players add quality to Youth Test series
Western Australia Cricket Association - 3 April 2001
Tomorrow Australia will take on Sri Lanka in the third and final round of the youth test series between the two nations.
Play starts at 10.30am at Fletcher Park in Perth.
The Australian squad for the game is: Nathan Hauritz (c) Travis Birt, Cameron Borgas, Beau Casson, Mark Cosgrove, Peter Dickson, Brett Greeves, Chris Hartley, Andrew James, Mitchell Johnson, Shaun Marsh, Aaron O'Brien, Tim Welsford, Cameron White.
Western Australia has two representatives in the team - Shaun Marsh & Beau Casson.
Both WA players have figured strongly in Australia's two 10 wicket victories in the two previous tests in the series. Marsh was the star of the second test at Lilac Hill Park scoring a chanceless 123, to follow up on his 73 in the first test at St Peters College in Adelaide. Casson claimed five second innings wickets in the first test match with his left arm chinamen.
The under 19's concept assists the development of international cricketers by bridging the gap between national underage level and senior first class cricket. And also provides the opportunity for the world's best young players to test their skills against each other.
