Pakistan Domestic: Blazing 124 by Saeed for KRL Sports Reporter - 2 April 2001
Saeed bin Nasir slammed a blazing 124 but KRL couldn't capitalize on the middle-order batsman's century when they were bowled out for 295 by PIA on the second day of the four-day Patron's Trophy match at their ground on Sunday. Resuming his innings at the overnight score of 34, Saeed went on to score an excellent 124 which was laced with 17 fours. His eighth-wicket stand with Naeem Akhtar, who contributed 21, yielded a valuable 57 runs. Saeed, a right-hand batsman, faced 269 balls and was finally dismissed by Shoaib Malik, who finished the day with 4-40 with his off-break bowling. When the stumps were drawn for the day, PIA, helped by an exquisite 57 by Yasir Hameed and 44 by Ghulam Ali had reached 161 for four.
