PCB may refund unused tickets 27 October 2000
The PCB might refund the money to the valid ticket holders who couldn't enter the National Stadium for the first one-day international between England and Pakistan. "The general is seriously considering the proposal. He has assigned the concerned authorities to come up with a concrete draft so that there was no further inconvenience to the public," official sources said. The officials advised the cricket fans not to destroy their unutilized tickets and wait for further announcement from the board. The official also said when the PCB chief heard the proposal, he said that the refund of tickets would also confirm how the house became full. "For example, if 1000 people turn up and demand refund, it would lead to another question as to how the stadium was over-flowing with spectators. That means fake tickets were also sold," sources said. "While the chairman blasted the Karachi office staff, he also inquired from them as to what measures should be taken in Lahore and Rawalpindi to avoid inconvenience to the public."
