Kaushalaya Weeraratne recalled to one-day squad

Kaushalya Weeraratne, the 20 year old all-rounder, who captained Sri Lanka Under 19’s in the their recent tour of England, has been recalled to the one-day squad for the Coca-Cola Champions Trophy in Sharjah. He has replaced Pramodya Wickramasinghe.

Tillekaratne Dilshan is the other new face in the squad. The right-handed batsmen has been selected ahead of Kumara Dharmasena, to bolster the batting. Two spinners, Mutiah Muralitharan and Upul Chandana, have been deemed sufficient with Sanath Jayasuriya and Russel Arnold also able to bowl.

The Sri Lankan team is set to leave for Sharjah tonight. With the unreliable weather in the country threatening practice conditions, The Management decided to leave early and practice in Sharjah.
