A 12-man Western Warriors squad to meet reigning champions, Queensland, in the first Pura Cup match of the 2000-01 season at the WACA from Friday, 13 October, 2000 has been announced by the WA selectors.

The squad includes Australian representatives Adam Gilchrist, Justin Langer and Damien Martyn, along with skipper Tom Moody who hasn't represented WA in a first-class fixture since March 22, 1999 due to a serious back injury.

Western Warriors squad: Tom Moody (captain), Adam Gilchrist (v-c), Jo Angel, Ryan Campbell, Sean Cary, Murray Goodwin, Mike Hussey, Simon Katich, Justin Langer, Damien Martyn, Matthew Nicholson, Gavin Swan.

Queensland Bulls squad: Stuart Law (captain), Matthew Hayden, Jimmy Maher, Martin Love, Andrew Symonds, Clinton Perren, Wade Seccombe, Andy Bichel, Adam Dale, Ashley Noffke, Joe Dawes, Matthew Anderson.

Match details: Umpires: Randolph Woolridge, Daryl Harper, Keith Rinaldi (third umpire), Ric Evans (match referee). Hours of play: 10.30am-12.30pm, 1.10pm-3.10pm, 3.30pm-5.30pm. Tickets at gate (adults $6.50,children and concession $3, family $13).
