Pakistan Reserves Cricket Team formed
PCB - 4 October 1999
Pakistan Cricket Board has formed a Pakistan Reserves Cricket Team comprising of the best available talent in Pakistan to provide a back up for the Pakistan National side. The Pakistan Reserves Cricket team will participate in Quaid-e-Azam Trophy (Grade-I) and the second one day national tournament at the end of the cricket season. Following are the salient features of Pakistan Reserves Cricket Team:-
- The basic aim will be to spot talent in order to make back up support for the Pakistan.
- Players selected will be groomed to make a fighting out fit comprising of talented youngsters.
- All expenses will be incurred by PCB, which will act as a department.
- Paid professional Coach, Manager and Physio will be appointed by PCB for the team.
- The team will utilize practice facilities at Cricket Academy ground at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore and National Stadium Karachi.
- Each player will be paid a handsome monthly salary.
- In addition to monthly salary, a match fee and daily allowance will be paid to each player.
- All logistic arrangements vis-à-vis air travel, hotel accommodation will be of international standards.
- The contractual period for each player shall be for the season only.
- The team will play against touring teams in the side/practice games.
- Training will be imparted to make them as role models and Ambassadors for Pakistan.
- The team shall be exposed to various pitch and ground conditions to prepare them for all sorts of playing conditions.
