BDF Youth head BCA standings 22 October 1999
The Barbados Defence Force Youth Programme (BDFYP) are leading the Barbados Cricket Association’s (BCA) Intermediate Premier Zone, according to provisional standings issued by the BCA yesterday. At the end of the eighth series, the BDFYP had 49 points, Pine Hill Dairy St. John Cultural, 37 and Oran Bristol, 35. But several big name teams have failed to submit full match reports. Among them are Big B Spartan and Stansfeld Scott Police, both listed at the bottom without a point. Wotton, Defence Force and Carib Conrad Hunte are leading in the three other Intermediate Zones. Wotton have 43 points atop Zone A, with Mount Gay Maple second on 37 and Belleplaine third on 28. Defence Force are the leaders in Zone B with 36 points, with Malvern behind them on 26 and Standard third on 18. Conrad Hunte lead Zone C with 39 points, Cockspur Wanderers have 22 and Banks 21. The top three in Division Two are: Zone A: Parish Land 58, Malvern 31, Combermere Old Scholars 25 Zone B: Brathwaite Construction Lord’s 49, Barbados Fire Service 41, Ministry of Public Works and Transport 20. Zone C: Police 64, GIS 43, BRC 37. In a published notice in yesterday’s Daily nation, the BCA reminded teams that failure to submit (match) reports will result in clubs not being credited with points which they have earned. Speaking yesterday, BCA business manager Rollins Howard said that with the season drawing to a close it was vitally important that teams provided reports. The Division 1 and Premier League competitions end on December 11, while the Intermediate zone, Schools Zone and Division 2 league conclude on November 13. The Intermediate have semifinals on November 27, 28 and December 4, with the final on December 11, 12, 18 and 19. the schools final is on November 27, 28 and December 4, while the division 2 semis are on November 20 and 27, with the final on December 4, 5 and 11. Howard said that with little time between the close of the league programme and the play-offs, this left little time to deal with queries, which was why there was an urgent need to submit the reports.
