AKCC Notes and News
Association of Kent Cricket Clubs - 17 November 1999

Start of season dates: There have been several enquiries about these, mainly concerned with when we move back a week rather than forward a day (or two in a Leap Year). This information will be found in 1.1 in the Playing the Game manual issued to all clubs by the ECB in 1997.

The dates recommended by the ECB for the first Saturday of each season are: April 29, 2000; April 28, 2001; April 27, 2002; April 26, 2003; April 24, 2004; April 23, 2005.

Hearty congratulations to Linton Park CCC and Invicta Ladies CC on winning their respective national competitions. Linton Park won the National Village Championship for the second time, beating woodhouse Grange, from Yorkshire, by 20 runs in the final at Lord’s.

Club Information: Sellindge CC; Secretary and Fixtures Secretary is Zoe Blandford, 5 Bramling Court, Kennington, Ashford TN24 9JS (tel 01233 640426)

Hawkinge CC: Fixtures Secretary is Andy Brooks, Aerodrome Road, Hawkinge, Folkestone.
