  • Adam Gilchrist's innings (81) is the third highest by an Australian wickekeeper against Pakistan after Rodney Marsh's 118 at Adelaide in 1972-73 and Ian Healy's 82 at Rawalpindi in 1998-99.

  • Gilchrist's innings is the 11th highest by a 'keeper on Test debut. It is also the second highest by an Australian debutant keeper after AH Jarwis who scored 82 against England at Melbourne way back in 1884-85.

  • The partnership of 86 runs between Shane Warne and Scott Muller is Australia's best for the 10th wicket against Pakistan.The previous highest was 52 runs between Dennis Lillee and Max Walker at Sydney in 1976-77 and between Geoff Lawson and Terry Alderman at Lahore in 1982-83.
