The Barbados Nation Tapeball getting its night
The Barbados Nation - 6 May 1999

The first official night cricket match to be played at the Waterford community ground will come off on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Organiser for the Spooners Hill Tapeball Tournament, Wayne Holder, told NationSport that they were experimenting with playing under lights for the Shernel Worrell Memorial Trophy, sponsored by Associated Joinery Systems.

For the third time in as many years Spooners Hill and Green Hill will contest the event.

On Sunday, the semifinals for this year’s tournament will be played.

At 9:30 a.m. defending champions Cave Hill Stars will meet Jevon Park Road, while Swiss Belfield and Cockspur Wadadah will clash at 1:30 p.m.

A fund-raising fete will be held on Friday night at the After Dark Courtyard.
