In the second Texaco Trophy One-day played at The Oval, they scored 302-5 in 55 overs. In the next match played at Nottingham they scored 363-7 in 55 overs. England had already achieved this feat in 1983 World Cup, by scoring 322-6 in 60 overs against New Zealand at The Oval and making 333-9 in 60 overs against Sri Lanka in Taunton in two successive matches.
