NatWest Trophy: Scots to take on depleted Dorset Mike Berry - 19 May 1999 Dorset will take to the field against Scotland in the second round of the NatWest Trophy in Glasgow this morning as a pale imitation of the team who lifted the Minor Counties Western Division last season. They are shorn of almost an entire 11 because of injury and unavailability, with Vyvian Pike, the leg-spinner, the sole survivor of the side who took part in last year's championship final against Staffordshire. The Dorset players flew north yesterday from three different airports, with Pike, today's captain, due to switch planes in Bristol after returning from a foreign holiday. Jon Hardy, last year's captain, is absent with business commitments while Stuart Rintoul, who has taken over from Hardy, misses the match after fracturing his wrist while fielding in Sunday's ECB 38-run county cup defeat by Cornwall at Sherborne. Mike Rindel, the South African all-rounder called up into last year's tour party, is in the Buckinghamshire side against the Yorkshire Board XI at Sheffield.
