Lancashire League: Inter-league competition

The Lancashire League will have nine representatives in the second round of the Inter-League Cup after a string of high-scoring encounters against their Central League counterparts on Saturday.

Enfield duo Andy Barker and Dave Saker lead the way with a brilliant unbroken third wicket stand of 227 in their win over Heywood.

Australian professional Bruce Hara hammered 134 not out in the visitors total of 230-7 but Barker (110 not out) and Saker (107 not out) saw the home team home to an eight wicket victory.

Todmorden's Richard Baigent smashed a fine century as his side rattled up 271-1 in their crushing victory over Ashton.

And 63 from skipper Nick Hope helped Lowerhouse beat Milnrow by 13 runs.

Neil Wells scored 52 as Rishton compiled 230-5 against Oldham before John Seedle then picked up 4-16 as the visitors crumbled to 166 all out.

Danny Kegg scored 41 not out to lead Nelson to a comfortable nine wicket victory over Stand, who had earlier been bowled out for 70 thanks to 5-16 from professional Roger Harper. There were also wins for Haslingden, East Lancs, and Ramsbottom who will now join Accrington, who received a bye, in the second round which is set to be played on May 31.
