Champions Kingston College will go after their 21st lien on the Sunlight Cup when they square-off with Jonathan Grant High in today's final to be played over three-days at Melbourne Oval.

After winning their sixth Tappin Cup title over Jonathan Grant High last week Kingston College are bubbling with confidence.

The KC players according to long standing coach Roy McLean are in good spirits, ready and prepared for the final.

McLean, a member of KC's victorious teams in 1953 and 1955, is confident that KC will once more prevail over the Jonathan Grant aggregation to take their third consecutive Sunlight Cup title, after wins over the Spanish Town team in the finals of 1997 and 1998.

``The Jonathan Grant High team has always been a competitive unit against us and has garnered much interest among the fans, but I believe if we go out there and play our best cricket we should prevail,'' McLean said.

Kingston College will again look to their key player, allrounder Marlon Samuels, to lead their charge along with captain Sean Cousley, Andrew Richardson, Martin Isaacs, Lincoln Granston, Orville Clarke, Andrew Dennis, Leonard Walker and Kevin Lawrence.

Samuels was the star of the 1997 final capturing six wickets and 118 as KC defeated Jonathan Grant by three wickets. Cousley who scored a good 93 to steer KC to a 49-run victory over Jonathan Grant in the Tappin Cup final last Tuesday is expected to once again play a key role.

The Jonathan Grant aggregation who will be hunting their first Sunlight Cup title will have gained from their two previous appearances.

The Spanish Town based team ``will be confident'' going into today's game according to coach Devon Buchanan.

``We have never won the Sunlight Cup before, but I believe we are in with a chance of winning the cup this time around. We have been training very hard since our Tappin Cup defeat,'' Buchanan said.

Victory for Jonathan Grant will be dependent on top batsman and captain Tamar Lambert who scored a masterful 161 against KC in the 1997 final.

Lambert is expected to get good support from allrounders Andre O'Sullivan, Gerald Morgan, David Harrison, Richard Lewin, Bryan Chambers along with pacers Howard Walters, Damion Davis and Roshane Ferron.
