The Electronic Telegraph Cricket Round-Up: Munton to benefit
Electronic Telegraph - 13 May 1999

Tim Munton, the former England fast bowler, received £225,000 from his benefit last year - the highest published figure for a Warwickshire player.

Only former captain Dermot Reeve is thought to have received more from his undeclared fund in 1996. Munton, who had one injury-wrecked season as captain in 1997, has taken nearly 600 first-class wickets in a 14-year career with Warwickshire.

Langleybury's defeat of St Albans has been ruled a no-result by the Hertfordshire League. Langleybury claimed a seven-wicket win, but the league committee refused to allow the result to stand as the St Albans innings did not last 40 overs. League secretary Richard Bayliss said: ``Langleybury misinterpreted the rules and it was unanimous the game be a no-result''.
