Barbados: Masters final today The Barbados Nation - 1 May 1999 The true masters of cricket in Barbados will be decided today. That's when Big B Spartan take on Yorkshire in the final of the Rick's Supermarket Masters (Over-40s) competition at Queen's Park from noon. Spartan, playing at home, boasts a strong all-round side and start as favourites, but should not discount the united Yorkshire side. The hosts will be led by all-rounder Arlington Hunte and will also be fielding the leg-spin combination of George Linton and David Holford. Spartan, who lost last year's final to St. Catherine, will, however, be without hard-hitting all-rounder Collis King who is in England on coaching commitments. Yorkshire, finalists in their first year of competition, have most of the names who represent them in the Barbados Cricket Association's Premier League competition. They have also included former Barbados left-arm spinner Noel Broomes, who in his heyday was a top-class fielder for the BCL. After the game there will be a presentation ceremony with the winner's trophy being presented. Teams: Yorkshire: Emmerson Alleyne (captain), Nigel Seale, Anthony Greaves, Glendon Edwards, Deighton Jackman, Henderson Hoyte, Kenny Best, Clyston Springer, Noel Broomes, Roy Applewhite, Victor Warner, Trevor Stuart. Big B Spartan: Arlington Hunte (captain), Jeffrey Mascoll, Peter Payne, Hector Sealy, Cleveland Parris, Clayton Johnson, Dexter Toppin, George Linton, David Holford, Richard Lorde, David Trotman, DeLisle Smith, Errol Gooding. Umpires: Clifford Clarke, Wilfred Babb. Man-Of-The-Match Adjudicator: Carl Brome.
