Wesley old boys of UK, Australia, SL in triangular cricket Richard Dwight - 1 March 1999 Here in Sri Lanka are members of the Wesley College old boys associations of UK and Australia to participate in Weley's 125th anniversary celebrations. In their ranks, they count past captains and cricketers, who will be engaged in a cricket triangular at Campbell Park today with the local old boys here, forming the third team. The celebrative events with the visitors in mind, have been so stretched to last a little over a fortnight. There will also be a hockey match and other competitions in the field of sport, for the three teams. The Old Wesleyites' Sports Club in recent years, has proved to be an effective auxiliary in the cause of Wesley's sport. Their gala anniversary ball held on Saturday at the Hilton, which was a commemorative fund raiser, was a roaring success and their annual schools' six-a-side cricket and seven-a-side hockey tournaments, organised on a larger scale as celebrative events, was well received.
