Dhaka tri-nation: ICC names umpires no sponsors yet Our Sports Reporter - 6 March 1999 The International Cricket Council (ICC) has designated three umpires from India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka to officiate matches of the tri-nation tournament scheduled to be held at the Bangabandhu National Stadium from March 19 to 27. Test babes Zimbabwe, Kenya and hosts Bangladesh will take part in the tournament organised by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) as part of Bangladesh's preparation for the England World Cup. The three umpires are VK Ramaswami of India, Javed Akhter of Pakistan and Peter Manuel of Sri Lanka. Matches will initially be held on a double league basis followed by the March 27 final between the top two teams. Meanwhile, the board is yet to get a sponsor for the three-nation tourney. According to BCB general secretary Syed Ashraful Huq, the board is expecting to get a sponsor very soon.
