Sri Lanka Clubs: Bloomfield by 128 runs

A good team work helped Bloomfield to beat Antonians by 128 runs in their Premier league inter-club cricket tournament match concluded at Reid Avenue yesterday.

After enjoying an exciting one-run first innings lead, Bloomfield declared at their overnight total and set a target of 270 to win in three full sessions. But the Antonians were bowled out for 141.

Bloomfield: 112 all out and 268 for 9 decl.

SSC trounce Panadura

SSC trounced Panadura SC by an innings and 87 runs in their Premier championship cricket tournament match concluded at Maitland Place yesterday.

The visitors were dismissed for 206 runs in their second innings with Suresh Perera (4 for 40) and Tilan Samaraweera (4 for 62) causing the damage.

Twin tons by Hewage

Pradeep Hewage gave a timely reminder to the selectors, who are due to meet soon to pick the Sri Lanka 'A' team for the forthcoming tour of England, with twin centuries (168 and 123) as his team NCC registered a smashing 556-run win over Matara SC in their Premier league cricket match concluded at Maitland Place yesterday.

NCC 397 for 8 decl. and 313 for 6 decl.
