West Of Scotland's Douglas Lockhart retains the captaincy for Scotland's third-round NatWest Trophy tie against Surrey at Grange, Edinburgh, next Wednesday.

With World Cup captain George Salmond unavailable through work commitments, Lockhart stays in charge after leading a makeshift Scottish side to victory against a Nottinghamshire Cricket Board XI and Dorset in the first two rounds of the competition.

The team includes only five members of the World Cup squad. Alec Davies and Iain Philip have retired from the international arena and, with Mike Allingham, Nick Dyer and Mike Smith also unavailable, opportunities have been given to several of the players who saw Scotland through the first two rounds.

Craig Wright, who took five wickets in last season's NatWest victory over Worcestershire, steps into the attack to share the seam bowling duties with Asim Butt and James Brinkley while Keith Sheridan, who did not play in the World Cup, and Gregor Maiden are the two spinners in the 12-man squad.

The Clydesdale pair Greig Williamson and Ian Stanger stiffen the middle order while Aberdeenshire wicketkeeper Colin Smith, who gains his first full cap, further strengthens the batting.
