Northern League: Darwen hope for big crowd
The Lancashire Evening Telegraph - 11 June 1999

Darwen are expecting their biggest crowd of the season so far for tomorrow's Northern League clash at home to Blackpool.

The men from Birch Hall are looking for their eight win out of nine in the league to maintain their advantage at the top of the table.

But Blackpool possess one of the most dangerous professionals around in Marcus Sharpe who finished last season as the league's leading wicket-taker.

Chorley are also in Northern League action at Fleetwood where they hope to regain second place in the table following the disappointment of last week's last ball defeat against Morecambe.

And Todmorden and Enfield meet in a re-arranged Worsley Cup tie at Centre Vale tomorrow, vying for a semi-final meeting with East Lancs at Alexandra Meadows.
