Meanwhile, this year's Danish Cup Final was a repeat of last year's encounter, except that the result was different. Herning pre-season favourites for the championship showed what they are worth and beat last years champions in a match that swayed back and forth. This year Herning have received reinforcements in the face of the Hedegaard brothers and their bowling together with Thony Hadersland sealed the match.

Herning won the toss and batted first. Svanholm opened as usual with spin at one end, but today without success. Herning soon got the run rate going punishing Svanholm's wayward bowling. The Herning batsmen got themselves out - two run outs and several lofted shots. The pitch was flat and did not cause much problems. The star of the Herning innings was Johnny Jensen, whose 73 off 62 balls gave the spectators something for their money. Herning failed to capitalise on the possible high score losing quick wickets at the end.

Svanholm opened their innings with authority and soon were scoring over four an over lead by Søren Henriksen and Henrik Pfaff. Svanholm had Herning by the scruff, but fortunes change and a collapse occurred. Danish players, Jan Overgård and Mohammed Siddique, both fell without scoring and suddenly the score was 101-5. Søren Henriksen and Alan From were well caught in the deep and only Mickey Lund with 31 no. tried to hold the tail together. Thony Hadersland showed Svanholm how to bowl spin by taking 15-3 in his allotted eight overs - a fine performance from the "old-timer". Svanholm finished on 156 after a spectacular run out.
