The Electronic Telegraph County Rankings
The Electronic Telegraph - 21 July 1999

Stuart Law is surplus to Australia's current requirements. Apart from that. life could hardly be sweeter for the talented Essex player.

By his own high standards Law under.performed last year. though he still averaged over 40. He mustered only two centuries and fell short of 1.000 runs . a figure he has already exceeded this season.

Law has made five hundreds already. sits proudly on top of the batting averages and is also well on course to finish as top batsman in the PPP Championship rankings.

Alamgir Sheriyar is well down the bowling averages. but the Worcestershire left.armer's 68 first.class wickets have earned him a healthy rankings advantage over Andrew Caddick and Martin Bicknell.

With Sussex and Somerset unbeaten in Division Two of the CGU National League. it is appropriate that Chris Adams and Piran Holloway are disputing the relevant batting award. Angus Fraser is the leading bowler.
