Heavy rain and bad light forced the finals of the Horlicks Trophy Schools Under 13 Division one cricket match between St. Peter's College, Bambalapitiya and St. Anthony's College, Katugastota to end in a 'no decision' at Police grounds, Kandy yesterday. In keeping with the tournament rules, St. Peter's and St. Anthony's were declared joint champions for the year 1998.

The first days play was completely washed off and yesterday only about 190 minutes play was possible during which period the Antonians scored 92 for 3 in 83 overs.

Yesterday play started only at 11 a.m. but a heavy downpour after tea forced the match to be abandoned. The Antonians taking first lease of the wicket were struggling at 38 for 3 at lunch time. But in the post-lunch play they advanced their score to 92 for 3 with H. M. Rikaz playing a solid knock of 40 not out with 5 fours and with P. D. Withanage 26 not out. This pair put on 62 for the fourth wicket. This put paid to any chances of Peterites forcing a win.

Peterites bowled very lightly and of the 83 overs they sent down, 47 overs were maidens.
