Golden Oldies six-a-side on February 21 Peter Christie - 12 February 1999 Stalwarts of yesteryear have been shedding superfluous kilos in preparation with the ``Golden Oldies'' six a side cricket tournament to be held on Sunday, February 21. Ten schools will present their fittest old boys who are over forty years of age. At the draw held at the Wesley College Old Boys Club on Tuesday, Old Nalandians picked to meet hosts Old Wesleyites in the opening game at 8 am . While the 'Mount' Old Thomians and the Peterites have drawn byes for the first round games, the Old Sebastianites meet the Katugastota Old Antonians, Old Royalists meet the Kingswoodian 'oldies' and the Old Bens meet the Old Richmondites. The feature of this tournament is that there will be a losers plate to keep everyone in the race till the very end. Former Sri Lankan fast bowler Lucky Gunatilleke, President of the Old Wesleyites' Sports Club, the School Principal Ben Fernando and Chief Organiser Eric Gauder said that every endeavour has been made to make the tournament an enjoyable one for the old boys of schools that have been Wesley's traditional rivals throughout its 125 years of the existence.
