Bloomfield well placed

Sri Lanka Test discard Roshan Mahanama fought his way back in to form with a pleasing unbeaten 55 with five boundaries to help Bloomfield to 111 for 4 at close in reply to Galle CC's 152 in their Premier Cricket Tournament match at Reid Avenue yesterday.

Another former Sri Lanka cricketer Champaka Ramanayake turning out for Galle CC too thumped a half century with three fours and a six.

Scores:

Galle CC: 152 in 82 overs (M. Sudarshana 26, C. Fernando 22, Champaka Ramanayake 50, Hemantha Alles 3 for 46, Kumar Dharmasena 3 for 30, Priyankara Wickremasinghe 2 for 44).

Bloomfield: 111 for 4 at close in 32.4 overs (Roshan Mahanama not out 55, J. C. Gamage 2 for 21).

Easy 1st innings win awaits CCC

A former Sri Lanka wicket-keeper Lanka de Silva missed a well deserved century by a mere five runs while Hemantha Boteju was unbeaten on 72 with five boundaries and three sixes as CCC made 315 for 5 declared in their Premier Cricket Tournament match with Matara SC at Maitland Crescent yesterday. Matara were 134 for 5 at close helped by a fine 76 with six fours and a six by Pulasthi Rangana.

Scores:

CCC: 315 for 5 declared in 79 overs (Bradman Ediriweera 103, Lanka de Silva 95, Hemantha Boteju not out 72).

Matara SC: 134 for 5 at close in 54.3 overs (Pulasthi Rangana 76, Nalin Dissanayake 19, Hemantha Boteju 2 for 16). (L.G.).

NCC well away

NCC helped once again by a superb half century by Nawid Nawas (72 with six boundaries and two sixes) and an unbeaten 70 by Asela Pathirane were 307 for 9 at close in their Premier Cricket Tournament game with Antonians which commenced yesterday at Maitland Place.

SSC - 1st innings points

Defending champions SSC have done well to obtain first innings points already from the table leaders Sebastianites in their Premier Cricket Tournament match at Moratuwa yesterday. Sebastianites were all out for 184 and SSC in reply were 229 for 7 at close yesterday.

Sebastianites: 184 in 58.4 overs (C. Liyanage 64, Thilan Samaraweera 5 for 46, Suresh Perera 2 for 47, Pramodaya Wickremasinghe 2 for 53).

Moors set for 1st innings points

Moors Sports Club are on the verge of getting first innings points against Kurunegala YCC in the Premier Division cricket tournament match at Welagedera Stadium, Kurunegala.

After making 281 for 9 wickets declared, Moors did well to have Kurunegala YCC on the defensive 125 for 9 wickets at close of play yesterday.
